The Romaeuropa Festival is a huge cultural undertaking, spanning dozens of theatre, music and dance events at venues throughout the city of Rome, including the Auditorium Parco della Musica, Conciliazione and Teatro Olimpico.

Since its inception in the 1980s the festival has grown steadily in fame, recognition and ability to attract top-range talent. Classical offerings predominate, but popular artists such as Manu Dibango, Cesaria Evora and gypsy groups from Andalusia and Pakistan have also appeared.

The 2008 edition opens with Impromptus, a dance performance by German choreographer Sasha Waltz. In the following days New York-based Bang on a Can All-Stars offer an interpretation of Brian Eno's Music for Airports at the Palladium. The electronic music programme features performances by Boys Noize and Dave Clarke, among others. Please visit the festival website for full detailsof the programme.
